Different uses of two-wheelers

The different types of motorcycles allow bikers to use them in a variety of ways. These handy and practical vehicles can be used on a trip or just for leisure. Some models of two-wheelers like the Harley-Davidson Electra Glide or the BMW GS are designed for a long trip thanks to their capacity of over 160 liters of luggage.

Some sport motorcycles or sport side bikes can run on asphalt tracks, dirt tracks or off-road or on a closed asphalt terrain. Motorcycles are also used as a utility vehicle for pizza delivery, motorcycle courier… This means of urban transportation is considered as a public transport in many countries. The motorcycle is a means of locomotion that also allows to participate in a competition whose activity is officially governed by the International Motorcycle Federation.

Sport bike models

Sport bikes are racing models modified only to be homologated on the road. The sport bike is less powerful than the supersport which is models from 600 to 750 cc and the hypersport greater than or equal to 1000 cc. A sport bike is expensive to buy and to maintain. Its insurance is high, it is necessary to provide about 400 € for the purchase of tires that usually last less than 5000 km.

The French market currently counts more than 300 available models of motorcycles over 125 cc. The 10 main types of two-wheelers are divided into 2 main genres: the versatile and the radical. The most sold motorcycle models in France are the medium displacement roadsters like the Kawasaki Z750, the Kawasaki ER-6 and the Yamaha FZ6.

Motorcycles are also available in other variants such as heavy-duty roadsters and street bikes. The latter two-wheeled models are suitable for commuting to work, weekend rides or vacations. Other motorcycle models are sport-GT, grand tourers, supermotos, customs and cruisers.
